Taali To Release “I Am Here” On March 22

Songwriter Taali will release her debut full length album I Am Here on March 22 via Rainbow Blonde Records. Today, she shares new album track “Star” ahead of its Valentine’s Day release this Thursday (watch above) featuring José James, her Rainbow Blonde Records label co-founder and creative and life partner.

José recognized Taali’s potential early on. After years of collaboration, they founded Rainbow Blonde together, with the ideal of an artist collective where every person, from artist to engineer, is a vital part of the story. To this day, he remains her biggest cheerleader and mentor, and “Star” is the embodiment of that healthy love and partnership.

“We wrote ‘Star’ for ourselves and our fellow dreamers worldwide; those looking for creation, connection, and love,” explains Taali. “We specifically wrote and sang our own verses, different both melodically and lyrically, to showcase where we were in our lives at that moment. Personally, I wanted to speak to finally stepping into my power, a theme I address throughout I Am Here.”

Born with a knife between my teeth and stones to throw…  Taali has come into her own. Drawing direct inspiration from the empowering Judaic culture passed down from her family, and the uplifting stories of the fierce women she surrounds herself with, the I Am Here album is an embrace of identity, ancestry, and a communal journey to recovery. It is the uncovering of secrets baked in by abuse, society, a culture, and herself. Seamlessly incorporating traditional Jewish melodies and beautiful organic and electronically enhanced compositions, I Am Here has claps, hand glides, and lyrics that speak of blood and reclamation. The LP, co-produced and written by Taali,  represents over a decade of growth and community, and sees Taali inviting other artists to write alongside her the way she has for their records over the years.

She just returned from the #IAmHereTrip, a film and photo documented cross country road trip with José. Diving deeply into her love of storytelling and the road, and driving with a caravan of like-minded artists, the trip spanned coasts; from desert sands to Memphis trolley-cars to Blue Ridge Mountain snow fall, finally re-planting her roots into her home of 11 years, Manhattan. Each moment and location was spectacularly recorded, and the trip was officially partnered and sponsored by Cadillac, W Hotels, Hard Rock Hotels and others.
