One Gen Away Benefit Returns To Franklin Theatre

On September 26 at 7 pm, a talented group of musicians on a mission will take the stage at the historic Franklin Theatre in support of One Generation Away (One Gen Away), a Nashville based non-profit dedicated to eliminating poverty in America in just one generation.
Now in its third year, the Jammin’ for One Gen Away fundraiser includes NewsChannel 5 anchor Steve Hayslip, returning as emcee. The evening will be headlined by contemporary jazz saxophonist Michael Lington, country soul singer/songwriter James Otto, and The Okies, starring Dave Innis and Paul Gregg of Restless Heart. Together, with featured guests Heath Wright (Ricochet), guitarist Bruce Gaitsch (Peter Cetera, Richard Marx, Madonna), singer Keith Landry (Louisiana Leroux, Lee Greenwood, Toto), bassist Tim Denbo (Mark Schulz, LynnMarie and the Boxhounds), drummer Dan Needham (Michael McDonald, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith), and keyboardist Scott Sheriff (Carrie Underwood, Kenny Loggins, Steven Curtis Chapman), the group will perform some live music, and spend time highlighting the issue of hunger in Middle Tennessee, all while raising much-needed funds for One Generation Away.
“I am so thrilled to be back for the third year helping raise awareness for One Gen Away and the wonderful work they do helping folks in need. I have become very fond of Nashville and its strong community and can’t wait to make more music with my friends at the beautiful Franklin Theatre,” states Michael Lington.
“We at One Gen Away are so grateful and thankful for the individuals, churches, and civic groups that have helped us feed and serve our friends in need. It is an honor to celebrate with you for the third year in a row at this amazing event,” says One Gen Away founder, Chris Whitney.
“Team Innis Productions looks forward to creating an immersive musical celebration each year and this year is no exception,” says Dave Innis, of Restless Heart and The Okies. “The fact that everyone has donated their time and talent is a testimony to the accomplishments of One Gen Away. And, you never know who might drop in to share the stage!”
Pre-show events include a VIP cocktail party from 5:30 – 6:30 pm featuring 40’s jazz by Janna Landry and Friends, raffle items, and live auction items including a signed guitar from the Grand Ole Opry. All proceeds go to support One Generation Away and Tennessee families. General seating tickets are available via Franklin Theatre, and premium seating is also available through One Generation Away.
