World Firefighter Challenge Championship, Nashville
October 25 @ 6:00 am - 6:00 pm
FreeGet ready because an exciting, action-packed sporting event featuring real life heroes is coming to Nashville, Tennessee, October 21-26, 2024, in the infield of the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. This is a FREE event for the public!
Deemed by ESPN as “the toughest two minutes in sports”, firefighters from more than 18 countries will run the challenge course tackling what are known as the Five Essential Functions™ wearing full turnout gear and a self-contained breathing apparatus. Participants have three main categories to compete in: individual, tandem (2-person), and relay (3-5 person). Competitions simulate the physical demands of real-life firefighting by climbing the five-story tower, hoisting, chopping, dragging hoses, and rescuing a life-sized, 165-pound “victim” as they race against themselves, their opponents, and the clock.
