Platinum-certified artist Chase Rice returns to country radio on Monday, Aug. 13 with his new single, “Eyes On You,” a mid-tempo ballad which paints a picture of a man so in love with a woman that nothing else in the world can take his eyes away from her.
“This is the song I’ve been waiting my whole career for,” said Rice. “We knew as soon as we wrote ‘Eyes On You’ that it was going to be special, and our fans have confirmed that with the way they’ve been reacting at the live shows and streaming it like crazy online.”
The song has been streamed over 50 million times worldwide already – averaging more than 250,000 streams daily – before even being announced as a radio single.
Fans have been waiting for the accompanying music video ever since Rice gave them a sneak peek, sharing directly with his social media followers that he sustained a torn pectoral muscle while filming the video in California. Rice again went directly to his most loyal fans this morning, releasing the final product to his newsletter subscribers before the video becomes available everywhere later today, Aug. 10.
Written by Rice alongside frequent collaborators Ashley Gorley and Chris DeStefano, the singalong chorus of “Eyes On You” tells the story of a man so enamored by a woman that the world’s most beautiful settings – as shown in the forthcoming music video – pale in comparison. “No matter where we go / No matter what we do / If you’re there, girl, I’ve got my eyes on you,” Rice sings. “Don’t matter where we’ve been / No, there ain’t no better view / Than you in my arms with my eyes on you.”
“Eyes On You” is the follow up to his Lambs & Lions lead single “Three Chords & The Truth,” a Top 20 hit at country radio and the first taste of music from Rice since joining new label home BBR Music Group. Rice is currently playing shows across the country on his Lambs & Lions Tour before traveling to the United Kingdom this fall.
