In just eight months, Lyft riders who’ve tapped ‘Round Up & Donate’ have donated over $4 million, proving that “the more we ride, the more we raise.” And yesterday, Lyft introduced a new cause: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. Starting January 30th, you can support courageous kids fighting cancer and other life-threatening diseases — every time you ride.
Lyft has teamed up with longtime St. Jude supporter, country star, Brett Eldredge, to celebrate St. Jude’s introduction to the Lyft community.
“I am so thankful to St. Jude for the opportunity to meet these incredible kids. The courage and zest for life that they have is something that will inspire me forever. Now everyone can help make an impact with Lyft’s Round Up & Donate. I hope that everyone can see how powerful and simple it is to help by donating. Let’s give these children the life that they deserve.” said Eldredge.
St. Jude is transforming the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Your support helps ensure that families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food, so they can focus on what really matters — helping their child survive.
“Lyft’s Round Up & Donate provides people an easy and convenient way to support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude,” said Richard Shadyac Jr., President and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “Just a few cents can ultimately round up to a tremendous contribution, enabling us to continue with groundbreaking research and treatment all while keeping our founding promise that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.”
To join in? Go to ‘Settings’ in your Lyft app, tap ‘Round Up & Donate,’ choose St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as your cause, then take a ride. Once you’ve chosen your cause, Lyft will automatically round up your fares to the nearest dollar and donate the difference to St. Jude.
