Hangry folks rejoice – no more sorting through unfair, negative reviews. By favoriting, Taste just focuses on what is truly the best of whatever you’re craving, wherever you are.
The Taste App helps everyone, including families, tourists, and everything in-between decide the best places to eat in Nashville. Instead of giving an ambiguous 1-5 star review, users get one “favorite” in each category in their city, and the app ranks the top 10 favorite places. Users become a “tastemaker” by checking in at each location to increase the value of your opinion. We have pulled the rankings and are giving our readers the inside scoop! About Taste:
Taste is a fundamentally different way of finding your city’s best places to eat and drink through locals and their favorites. Locals get one favorite in each category; one coffee shop, one burger joint, etc. Check-In to receive milestones in each category to increase the value of your opinion and keep track of where you’ve been. Even compare your favorites with those closest to you. By removing reviews and one-to-five star ratings, Taste intrinsically reshapes the way people decide where to go eat and drink through a positive exchange: favorites.
Zac and Andy grew up together in Hershey, PA. They both ended up in Nashville for different reasons. Andy went to Belmont University, while Zac and Sam relocated their company, IV (www.iv.studio), to Nashville. The three were eager to explore Nashville’s restaurant scene but were tired of traditional review sites, like Yelp, that were basically lists of places NOT to go eat. Every good restaurant has a 4.6 star rating with a couple negative reviews. They wanted to know what was truly the best places from the people who know best: locals. That’s where the idea of “favorites” started.
