Brothers Of A Feather, AKA Chris and Rich Robinson, AKA The Black Crowes performed at the Basement East last night (2/25) in one of just a handful of acoustic shows they’ll be doing around the country. And if you were one of the lucky ones that squeezed into the packed, sold out show at the Basement East, you were counting your blessings. The two brothers have had a tumultuous rock and roll relationship and all of the things that go along with being rock super-stars but last night was pure brotherly love. Chris’ voice sounds as good as did in 1984 when the band formed and Rich’s guitar playing was spot on. And considering Rich was just getting over the flu his voice did’t sound bad either, but he asked the crowd to help out on harmonies which they did enthusiastically. The brothers started the night with “Jealous Again” and the hits just continued “Twice as Hard,” “Thorn in My Pride,” “Soul Singing,” “She Talks to Angels” etc.

Last night was just two guys and a guitar but the energy level was over the top. The boys are fresh, rejuvenated and time will tell but it seems they’ve weathered the tough times and are in it for the long haul. The Brothers Of A Feather tour feels to be a warm up for their full band, Black Crowes tour this summer and they’ll be making yet another stop in Nashville at the Ascend Amphitheatre on July 7th & 8th, 2020.
