Watch: Cole Swindell Premieres “Right Where I Left It”

Georgia native and rising star Cole Swindell, celebrating five years as a recording artist, premiered his video for “Right Where I Left It” today. “Right Where I Left It,” written by Cole Swindell, Cole Taylor and Michael Carter, was the fourth of the scheduled five songs he is releasing from his Down Home Sessions V EP. The song was released last Friday September 27.

The video “Right Where I Left It,” directed by Michael Monaco, takes Swindell back to his roots–to his hometown of Bronwood, GA visiting the people places that shaped him. Reflecting on the memories of his hometown he sings “I guess sometimes you don’t know what you got till you’re gone. Couldn’t wait to get out. Had to chase some dreams down, ain’t it funny how I found all I needed right where I left it.”

“I’ve always been so proud of growing up in Bronwood, Georgia,” said Swindell. “I left Bronwood to go to college and then left Georgia altogether to chase this dream of becoming a songwriter and an artist and travel the world. I feel so blessed to have been able to do and accomplish all I have, but it didn’t take long for me to realize none of it would have been possible if it weren’t for where I grew up, the way I grew up and the people I grew up with. I didn’t get to include everyone but there are so many people in this video that have been influential in my life and I don’t think I would be here without all of them. I hope folks can relate it to where they are from and always know you can go home.”

In celebration of his five years, the rising superstar kicked off the summer with the release of a new song from the upcoming EP Down Home Sessions V. He is releasing five songs, one song each month for five months. He has released two thus far including the June release of “Drinkin’ Hours”; the July release of “All Nighter”; the August release of “Down To Earth” and this month’s release of the fourth track “Right Where I Left It” released last Friday, September 27.

Swindell has released a Down Home Sessions EP (I, II, III, IV) in each of the last years since he became a recording artist and supported with four sold-out Down Home Tours.
