Country star Jimmy Wayne’s book, Walk to Beautiful, is the #1 Bestseller in the Country & Folk Composer Biography category on Amazon.com this week
Additionally, Walk To Beautiful is a bestseller in two other formats: Kindle (where the book currently sits at #3), and hardback (where it now charts at #6 ).
Walk to Beautiful is the powerfully emotive account of Jimmy’s harrowing childhood and the love shown him by Bea and Russell Costner, the elderly couple who gave him a stable home when he was 16 years old. Having this stability gave Jimmy the chance to complete his high school and college education, and pursue and catch his dream of a career in country music.
Jimmy says of Bea, “She changed every cell in my body.”
“I’m grateful for the support shown by everyone who purchased Walk To Beautiful. When I wrote it I knew it was going to take on a life of its own and change lives. I receive phone calls, emails and messages through social media from fans, old friends and complete strangers every day who have become child advocates and foster parents after reading this book. Knowing my story has impacted people this way … that inspires me,” says Jimmy.
The book shines a light on his impressive music career, which includes seven Top 40 hits, the Number One single “Do You Believe Me Now,” and recording “Sara Smile” with Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame duo, Daryl Hall and John Oates.
It also recounts Jimmy’s 1,700 mile walk halfway across America (from Nashville to Phoenix in 2010), which he embarked on in order to raise awareness to the plight of the 30,000 youth who age-out of foster care annually in the U.S., and the 400,000 waiting to be adopted.
Along the way, Jimmy helped change laws in Tennessee, California, Ohio and North Carolina, extending foster care services from age 18 to age 21.
Today Jimmy continues his work as a child advocate by sharing his powerful music-infused presentation, “The Power of One,” all around the world, while giving back through his non-profit awareness campaign, Project Meet Me Halfway.
