Wynonna Presents Her Mom, Naomi, With Vision Of Hope Award

The Judds reunited on stage for a special moment during NAMI Tennessee’s Vision of Hope Gala when Wynonna presented her mother, Naomi, with the Vision of Hope Award. The honor recognized Naomi’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the stigma of mental illness.

“When my spotlight went out after The Judds success, I fell into a very deep and dark place. It’s taken a lot of work, both spiritually and medically, to get to where I am today. It’s important to talk about that. It’s crucial our society opens up and recognizes that nearly 60 million Americans experience a mental health condition every year. I’m thankful organizations like NAMI Tennessee support people with mental illness, their families and community members. I’m honored to accept the Vision of Hope Award,” Naomi shared.

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Tennessee is a grassroots, non-profit, self-help organization. NAMI is dedicated to improving quality of life for people with mental illness and their families through support, education and advocacy.

“We were so honored to have The Judds at our Vision of Hope Gala and thankful for Naomi’s incredible work to change the stigma of mental illness. When a celebrity goes public, it’s more relatable and personal. Mental illness isn’t like heart disease or cancer – people don’t talk about it. So, having Wynonna and Naomi support our ongoing effort is monumental in affecting change,” said Jeff Fladen, NAMI Tennessee’s Executive Director.
