The Grand Ole Opry To Honor Military Families

The show that made country music famous is scheduled to salute the families of enlisted soldiers with a red carpet parade and two special  Salute the Troops Opry performances Tuesday, May 22. The public is invited to be a part of the honored families’ red carpet arrivals outside the Opry House beginning at 5:45 p.m., and the evening’s Opry performances begin at 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Among the artists scheduled to perform are Trace Adkins, Lee Greenwood, Craig Morgan, Kellie Pickler, and Darius Rucker. Tickets for the evening’s first show are on sale now, and tickets for the second show will go on sale at 10 a.m. Thurs., May 3.   Check HERE for Opry Tickets!

The Opry, the Tennessee National Guard Family Programs organization, and the USO will invite men and women of the U.S. military as well as spouses, children, and parents of soldiers serving overseas to walk a red carpet into the Opry House for the evening’s shows saluting the troops and the families they leave at home to serve the United States.

“We owe so much to our veterans and to the families of our veterans,” said Morgan, a U.S. Army veteran and Grand Ole Opry member. “We are all truly grateful for the sacrifices they make for our nation. My fellow artists and I are very excited to head to the Opry that night, shake as many family members’ hands as we can, say thank you, and offer some of our songs in salute.”

Among other artists scheduled for the Opry and Opry Country Classics in May are Bobby Bare, Terri Clark, Easton Corbin, Jordan Davis, Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers, Crystal Gayle, Lorrie Morgan, Charley Pride, Rascal Flatts, Ricky Skaggs, Marty Stuart, Tanya Tucker, Carrie Underwood, and Brett Young.
