On February 27, Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee will host Outside the Box, a dessert tasting featuring unique renditions of Girl Scout Cookies crafted by local restaurateurs, including Cork & Cow, Delta Bound, Homestead Manor, Merridee’s Breadbasket, and Momma Nik’s Cheesecake. All proceeds will go towards helping girls in Middle Tennessee achieve the confidence and skills to empower themselves, solve problems in their community, and make the world a better place.
The third annual event will honor Deborah Y. Faulkner, chief of the Franklin Police Department, and will take place at Nissan North America, Inc., beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Chief Faulkner leads the 160 men and women who make up the Franklin Police Department, the ninth largest in the state of Tennessee. She has served in leadership positions on several organizational boards including Fifty Forward, YWCA, Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee, Catholic Charities, and Goodwill.
Proceeds from Outside the Box will directly benefit girls in Middle Tennessee by way of programs, summer camps, and volunteer resources.
