10. J & J’s Market and Café – Midtown
1912 Broadway
Nashville, TN 37203
(615) 327-9055
Hours: Mon-Fri 7a.m. – 11p.m. Sat 8a.m. – 11p.m. Sun 10 a.m. – 9p.m.

OK, although I want to put J & J’s higher for so many reasons, I am just pleased to see they made one of the top coffee shops in the city. This is a fun mash-up of an old little convenient-type store and a cool coffee shop. Noah’s float – coffee plus ice cream – Just saying, it cools and creams your coffee all in one. Don’t expect anything fancy, expect to have great coffee in a cozy chair and read a book.

9. Steadfast Coffee – Germantown
603 Taylor Street
Nashville, TN 37208
(615) 891-7424
Hours: Mon 7 a.m. – 6p.m. Tue-Fri 7a.m. – 10 p.m. Sat 8a.m. – 10p.m. Sun 8a.m. – 6p.m.

They change their menu every season to offer a taste that matches the weather outside and the freshest ingredients available. How cool is that? They serve breakfast until 6p.m. and they began serving dinner beginning in March of this year.

8. Yeast Nashville – Edgefield
805 Woodland Street
Nashville, TN 37206
(615) 678-4592
Hours: Daily, 7a.m. – 1p.m.

Yes, I know this sounds like a disease. Unless you are someone who understands food to the depth I do, then it just means some place with some kind of yeast product. Plus, they have delicious coffee. They are known for the Czech and Slovakian/American foods such as the kolache, which is similar to a Danish, but with sweeter, denser bread.

7. Mike’s Ice Cream – Downtown
208 Broadway
Nashville, TN 37201
(615) 742-6453
Hours: Daily, 8a.m. – 12a.m.

OK, so Mike’s stands out for a few reasons. One, it’s right downtown on Broadway, so amongst people-watching and boot shopping, you can stop in and grab some ice cream on a steamy day or a hot Americano on a cold one. Also, for the location, you get a pretty good price. A large latte will run you less than $4.

It is always a good afternoon when Mike's Ice Cream is involved! #downtownnashville #nashville #icecream #gorgeousday

5. Biscuit Love brunch – The Gulch
316 11th Avenue South
Nashville, TN 37203
(615) 490-9584

Yes, Biscuit Love seems to have quite a few markets cornered when it comes to breakfast and bruchy foods and beverages. But, what washes down scrumptious Bonuts and mimosas down but a beautiful morning or early afternoon brew, such as an almond milk latte.

4. Dozen Bakery – South Nashville
516 Hagan Street
Nashville, TN 37209
(615) 712-8150
Hours: Mon-Sat 7a.m. – 6p.m. Sun 9a.m. – 3p.m.

You wouldn’t think this place would be worthy of a letter home, but people seem to really love the food and the coffee at Dozen Bakery. Customers seem to enjoy breakfast or a slice of homemade pie with their crema coffee.

The number one rated coffee and bakery stop in Nashville is Sweet 16th Bakery. Their coffee is locally roasted, freshly brewed and served steaming. This would be a great afternoon stop to pick up a pastry and cup of coffee.
