Race, Equity and Classical Music

April 6 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Free

On Thursday, April 6th from 11:30-1pm, Intersection is hosting a panel discussion on Race, Equity and Classical Music at Fisk University.  We encourage attendees to bring their own lunch or purchase lunch at the Fisk Cafeteria as we share a meal and conversation. This free event will have visiting composer Jonathan Bailey Holland and Fisk faculty Gary Powell Nash and Gwendolyn Brown. Ms. Brown has performed with major opera companies and symphonies throughout the country. Mr. Nash and Mr. Holland are both originally from Flint, MI and will share their paths as composers of color carving a unique voice in a field that is dominated by Eurocentric traditions.
